Airports and Flights
This is out of date now, but I'll
leave it here for prosperity
- The best airport to fly into is Bratislava (BTS).
Please note that Bratislava is one hour ahead of the UK.
- Sky
Europe have the cheapest flights from Stansted directly to Bratislava.
If you want to stay for the absolute minimum amount of
time, then you'll be trying to find a flight on Saturday - but they don't
exist! The best outbound flight is NE121 departing Fri, 30-Apr-04 at 10:10
AM that lands 1:20 PM and currently costs £34. The best return flight is NE120
departing Mon, 03-May-04 at 8:20 AM that lands 9:40 AM and currently costs £49.
These prices will change as the flight fills, so book early! The current
total including airport taxes, etc. is 109.06 per adult for the round trip, but
it's going up by the day. Our advice is that you BOOK YOUR FLIGHTS
NOW. So don't be a dip-stick and leave it to the last minute!
If you take our recommended flights with Sky Europe,
we will have a bus waiting to pick you up from the airport on the Friday,
and drop you back on the Monday.
-
Czech
Airlines are the next best carrier. They fly out of Stansted,
Heathrow, Cork, etc. They are the oldest airline in the world, and are not
Aeroflot under a pseudonym! Most flights will go via Prague, but your
luggage will be checked in for the entire journey. The round trip from
Stansted is currently between £220 and £280 per adult depending on
timing. Use Opodo to find the cheap
flights, and then check the Czech airlines page to see if you can get it a bit
cheaper directly.
-
If you're rich, you can go by British
Airways. Also consider staying over in Bratislava for longer, or
visiting Vienna as it's only just over the border from Bratislava.
